The OCU Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (ReCAP) has been selected by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as a Joint-Usage/Research Center for a period of 6 years starting 2016.

Appointed as Center of Excellence Formation for Artificial Photosynthesis Research, the Center will do research on functional analysis of photosynthetic proteins and their application in artificial photosynthesis, creation of molecular and biocatalysts for molecular conversion of carbon dioxide, creation of light hydrogen production and carbon dioxide reduction using semiconductor photocatalysts, creation of an artificial light collection system and its application to artificial photosynthesis, as well as other artificial photosynthesis research for solar cells, energy carriers and chemical synthesis. The center is open for joint-usage and research by OCU or non-OCU researchers from Japan or abroad.

Researchers and institutes who would like to cooperate with the researchers at the OCU Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis are welcome to apply.
